The Compounded Question

Is compounded GLP-1 actually safe?

Short answer: yes, when it’s dispensed by U.S. licensed pharmacies and prescribed by a licensed U.S. physician who has reviewed your case. Compounded medications are prepared specifically for you by a licensed compounding pharmacy, using FDA-regulated active ingredients, when a clinician determines it’s appropriate for your treatment plan.

Why personalized? Compounded medications are made specifically for you. Your prescription, your dose, your treatment plan, not a one-size-fits-all formulation. That’s also why a licensed physician reviews your case before anything is prescribed.

What we guarantee

  • 1
U.S. licensed pharmacies only. Every prescription is filled by a state-licensed pharmacy in the United States. Never overseas. Never unverified.
  • 2
Real provider review. A U.S. licensed clinician personally reviews your intake before any prescription is written.
  • 3
LegitScript Certified. We meet the standards required of legitimate, transparent telehealth pharmacies.
  • 4
No commitments. Pause or cancel any time. Your subscription is yours to manage.
What to expect

A realistic timeline.

Your provider titrates your dose gradually. That’s by design. Most patients notice appetite changes within the first few weeks. Every dose is the same price, so your treatment plan is driven by what’s right for you, not by what’s cheapest.

Same price. Every dose. Whether your provider starts you low or moves you to a higher dose later, your monthly price doesn’t change. The plan is built around your response, not your wallet.

Week 1–4
Starter phase
Your body adjusts to medication. Provider monitors response. Some early appetite changes are common.
Week 5–8
Adjustment phase
Appetite reduction more noticeable. Provider may titrate dose up based on your response and tolerance.
Week 9–16
Building phase
Steady, sustainable changes. Habit shifts solidify. Provider adjusts treatment as needed.
Week 17–24
Optimizing phase
Approaching your maintenance plan. Provider fine-tunes dose based on how your body has responded.
Week 25+
Maintenance
Long-term plan personalized to you. Continued provider support, adjustments any time.
Semaglutide or Tirzepatide?

Two options. One decision your provider helps make.

Both are GLP-1 receptor agonists. Tirzepatide adds a second mechanism (GIP). Your provider recommends what’s right for your goals, history, and how your body responds. You can switch at any time.

Patient stories

Real results from real people.

Down 27 lbs in 4 months

The intake was straightforward, my provider answered every question, and the medication arrived in three days. Honey treats you like a person, not a customer.

Down 19 lbs in 8 weeks

My provider actually took the time to understand my history before prescribing anything. I felt like I was being treated as a person with goals, not pushed into a one-size-fits-all plan.

Honest expectations and no upsells. I started on the lowest dose and my provider helped me titrate up only when I was ready. Six months in and I feel like myself.

Food noise gone by week 3

My first experience with a compounded GLP-1 was better than expected. I began to see weight loss around Week 3 but really loved how it eliminated my craving for late night snacks. The “food noise” going away is real!

Honest information

What it might feel like.

Most side effects are temporary and manageable. We’d rather tell you upfront than have you discover it later.

Common, usually mild

Nausea & GI changes

Most reported in weeks 1–4. Typically settles as your body adjusts. Eating smaller, lower-fat meals helps significantly.

Common, manageable

Fatigue & lower appetite

You’ll notice food doesn’t dominate your thoughts the way it used to. Stay hydrated and prioritize protein.

Less common

Constipation

Tied to lower food intake. Fiber, water, and gentle movement resolve most cases within a week.

+
Nausea is the #1 concern, and the most manageable.
If nausea is a worry, your provider will work with you on a plan to minimize it: from titration pace to practical strategies that help most patients feel better fast. We’d rather you feel good than tough it out.
Pricing

One price. Every dose.

Why we built Choose Honey

Personalized care, without the runaround.

“Too many people get pushed into one-size-fits-all care, with prices that never quite add up and providers they can’t reach. Choose Honey was built differently: a licensed physician who reviews your case, a licensed U.S. pharmacy that prepares your medication for you, and a price that doesn’t change because your dose did.”

Common questions

Things you’re probably wondering.

How is my treatment personalized?
+
A licensed U.S. physician reviews your medical history, current health, and goals before any prescription is written. Your medication is then compounded specifically for you by a licensed U.S. pharmacy: your dose, your formulation, your plan. As your body responds, your provider adjusts your dose. The price stays the same.
What does the provider consultation look like?
+
After you complete the 2-minute assessment, a licensed U.S. physician reviews your case asynchronously and may message you for clarification or schedule a video consult. If treatment is appropriate, your provider writes a prescription tailored to you. You can message your provider any time after treatment begins to adjust dosing, raise concerns, or ask questions.
Do I have to inject myself?
+
Yes, once a week, with a small subcutaneous needle (similar in size to an insulin needle). You can inject in your abdomen, thigh, or upper arm. Most patients say it’s painless and takes about 30 seconds. Detailed instructions and a video tutorial are included in your first shipment.
What if I experience side effects?
+
Most side effects (nausea, mild GI changes, fatigue) are temporary and resolve as your body adjusts. Your provider is available by message to help you manage them, whether that means slowing your titration, adjusting your plan, or talking through what’s normal versus what isn’t.
What if it doesn’t work for me?
+
Cancel any time. There’s no contract, no membership, and no early-cancellation fee. If you’re not seeing results, your provider can adjust your dose, switch you between semaglutide and tirzepatide, or recommend stopping treatment.
Why doesn’t your price change with my dose?
+
Because the medication is compounded specifically for you. Whether your provider starts you low or moves you to a higher dose, the price stays the same. Your treatment plan is driven by what’s right for your body, not by what’s cheapest for that month.
Can I use my HSA or FSA?
+
Yes, Choose Honey treatments are HSA and FSA eligible. We provide receipts compatible with most reimbursement systems.

★★★★★

“I was a little hesitant about using a telehealth service, but a friend recommended this one and I’m so glad they did. From the moment I signed up, I was amazed at how incredibly easy it was to navigate. Everything feels intuitive and straightforward, no confusing menus or endless forms. What really sets this platform apart is that it was founded by two pharmacists who built it because they were frustrated with all the unknowns and lack of transparency on other sites. They wanted to create something truly easy to use, personalized, and trustworthy, and in my opinion, they absolutely nailed it. I felt confident and cared for throughout the entire process. Highly recommend!”

— Scott W

I have recommended to many friends.”
